Job Description


The Benefits Coordinator supports the Benefits Department through daily communication with Associates regarding benefit issues and questions, as well as researching benefit eligibility and coverage issues.   This role also processes benefit information, creates reports, and audits benefits data. 


  •  Develop and administer benefit corresponds via email and mailings.
  •  Research and resolve day-to-day Associate service issues.
  •  Comfortably discuss benefit issues / problems over the phone with Associates.
  •  Administer the benefits enrollment process for new hires, rehires, and annual enrollment; includes setting up the online enrollment modules, reporting and auditing.
  •  Process benefit enrollments and changes in the Benefit Admin system (UltiPro).
  •  Review and process Associate court orders.
  •  Update Benefit Admin system with Evidence of Insurability approvals / declines.
  •  Provide employer-required information for Short-Term Disability Claims.
  •  Assist with preparation of annual Wellness Fair, Flu Shot Day and other Wellness events.

Skills Required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (written and verbal).
  • Must be able to work independently and work well with others.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.


Experience Required


Education Required

  • The minimum requirement for this position is a Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Human Resources, Business or related field. Experience in Benefits or Human Resources is a plus.

This position does not require any supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with constant interruptions.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouch or crawl.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work are 48 hours per week.
No travel is expected for this position.
